Snow???
What kind of weather will tomorrow will bring? Right now, it sounds like 1 to 3 in. possible snow accumulation through Saturday night and into Sunday. The road conditions Sunday morning will determine whether or not we will have our Sunday worship time (GT and WWOC). We'll let you know as soon as we can.
NWS Statement as of 10:39 PM EST on January 18, 2008

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 4 PM Saturday to
6 am EST Sunday.
Precipitation is expected to overspread central North Carolina
from the south during the day Saturday. Precipitation will start
as a period of rain Saturday morning and transition to all snow.
Widespread snowfall amounts of one to two inches are expected...
with a few locations possibly receiving three inches.
Snowfall will continue into the evening hours before ending. Temperatures
Saturday will only rise to around 40 before falling below
freezing as evening approaches. Temperatures are expected to fall
into the upper 20s before daybreak Sunday.
Snow will initially melt... but begin to accumulate on most
surfaces including local roads during the afternoon. Highs Sunday
of 35 to 40 will result in very little melting. This means slick
spots on the roads will remain a threat through Sunday and even
into early Monday morning.
Some uncertainty still exists with this event. The exact track of
the surface low... available moisture... and the timing of the
colder air will ultimately determine the snowfall accumulation
potential. A track further to the east would mean less snowfall
accumulation while a track to the west would result in slightly
higher amounts.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow will cause
travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited
visibilities... and use caution while driving.
